QUEEN JEZEBEL

HER NAME : Where is the Prince ( Baal)? JOY :  Jezebel realised her evil ambitions by killing Elijah's Prophets and initiated her subjects into idolatory. SORROW : Her arrogance and twisted heart brought her disgrace. STORY IN SHORT: Jezebel was a daughter of Ethbaal, the King of Sidon and the priest of the god, baal. She was also the wife of King Ahab. Jezebel reigned as Queen over part of Israel, 100years after David's death but 60years after the death of Solomon. Like her father, Jezebel would force all, including the Israelites into idol worship for she believed baal was the one causing the rains to pour. She did not only initiate her subjects into idolatry and witchcraft - spirits that dominated the princess herself, but also killed all of God's Prophets except Elijah. One day, Elijah summoned Jezebel's 850 false Prophets for a match to find out if baal had the supremacy over God. UNDERSTANDING THE WILL OF GOD !

" Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's WILL is." Ephesians 5:17. The WILL of God is basically WHAT God wants us to do or say at a point in time. It is also HOW He likes us to do or say WHAT He wants us to do or say. The WHAT refers to the OPTION He wants us to pick out of the lot; the HOW stands for the WAY or METHOD by which we carry out His recommended OPTION. The Lord Jesus, God's Living WILL , did not say He is The WAY and The TRUTH only. He actually said,  " I am the WAY, and the TRUTH, and THE LIFE..." John 14:6. So you see, God's WILL is beyond WHAT and HOW. It includes THE LIFE as well. God's WILL also shows us the lifestyle He wants us to live. And that, definitely must be His Life as lived by The Lord, Jesus , during His earthly Ministry ! SPIRITUAL DISTANCE

  “… They honour me with their lips but their hearts are far from me.” Isaiah 29:13 Why would a miniser’s relation be downtrodden while this same minister ably delivers others outside his family? Why would a virtual participant be positively touched while those in his physical presence are left unimpacted? Could it be that one’s faith is stronger than the other’s? If ” YES “, how possible is it that those that are rather physically far from God’s servant can have stronger faith than those present in his immediate circle? Beloved, the simple reason for all these oddies lies in ” SPIRITUAL DISTANCE “. Whereas PHYSICAL DISTANCE has to do with the space between physical bodies, SPIRITUAL DISTANCE refers to the distance between Spirits. The two do not yield same profit(s). One that is physically close but Spiritually far accesses only physical benefits from the other; the person that is spiritually close, whether physically present or not, stakeholds all things from his or her partner. ...

THE SHUNAMITE WOMAN

 


She lived in Jezreel, specifically along a road that links Jerusalem to Bethlehem. Being a generous woman, she agreed with her husband and made a resting place on the top of their building for Elisha who mostly plied that road.


One day, when the shunamite saw Elisha travelling the road again with his servant she invited them over into her house and showed her kindness so much to the Prophet's satisfaction.


Thus, Elisha sought through his servant, Geharzi, to reward her gesture but the woman sharply objected to it. The Prophet then asked his servant if there was any favour he could use his influence with the King of Israel to offer her but the woman would still reject that offer.


So he asked Geharzi to suggest a reward for the woman. When the servant mentioned that the woman had no child, Elisha declared that they would have one a year's time from then, which the Lord also fulfilled.


When this child died some years later, the woman went laid him in Elisha's room. But God remained faithful; after Elisha prayed and laid himself on the child a couple of times, he jerked back to life !
