Our preliminary article has established that of all the weapons, including prayer, praise/worship, knowledge and faith, obedience is the greatest. Faith is proved by obedience. As the popular adage is, ” practice makes perfect.”, so knowledge itself is also not complete without obedience. Prayer, praise and worship are all forms of sacrifices, yet God says obedience is better than them all. Today’s piece reveals why Obedience is God’s number one ! As quiet as obedience is, it remains the loudest tone of faith amongst prayer, praise and worship. THE SINFUL WOMAN

  HER CHARACTER: She was a notorious sinner, possibly a prostitute or adulteress. Rather than trying to defend what was indefensible in her life, she admitted her sin and made a spectacle of herself in a passionate display of love and gratitude. STORY IN BRIEF: She was a notorious prostitute or adulterous woman that followed Jesus to Simon's house. There, she kissed The Lord's feet, mobbed it with her tears, wipped wit her hair and finally perfumed it. Simon, surprised at Jesus' silence, loudly thought, " would the son of our holy Father just watch on without repelling this sinful woman? " Jesus quickly narrated to Simon - a creditor cancelled his debtors debt( one 50 denarri, the other 500 denarri). Then, He asked Simon which of the two debtors he thought would be most appreciative. When Simon judged right, saying it would be the debtor with much debt, Jesus explained that it was the reason the woman did as much; she perceived that her much sins would be forgiven...

ELI

  MEANING OF NAME : Jehovah is high or my God  HIS JOY : His good personality earned him admiration and corporation from his fellow Israelites during his ministry. HIS REGRET : His two sons let him down by their low quality characters. STORY IN BRIEF : Eli, a Levi, was from the family of Ithamar. He served as the priest and a high judge of Israel for about 40years. Though Eli himself was a good man, his two sons were not. Yet He made them occupy the Priestly positions. And when they went wrong, Eli would only warn them. He did not rebuke them.  Eli paid deerly for lack of proper parental control when his two sons were slaid in the battle with the Philistines, where the Israelites also lost the ark. SOWING THE RIGHT WAY !

" For there is a right time and procedure to every purpose..." Ecclesiastes 8:6 A seed is a  gift offered to God or to a man in demonstration of LOVE or HATRED. It takes the forms of money, property, crops, physical food, words of the tongue and attitude.  Seeds - good or bad, reproduce their kind. This, we must understand in our walk with God and in our relationship with man. The one who desires to reap good fruits must sow good seeds ! Unfortunately, much may not be harvested from our seeds when we sow disregarding the WILL of God. It is, therefore, imperative to observe God's " HOWs " and " WHENs " concerning sowing, as disclosed below. 1. SAUL

  MEANING OF NAME : ASKED FOR OR DEMANDED STORY IN BRIEF : Saul, son of Kirsh, and the first king of Israel was installed in a private manner by Samuel as the people would not accept Samuel's suggestion for the need of a King. Saul was not only anointed; the Spirit of God also filled him. For which reason he ably won some battles with the Israelites in the early years of his reign. And his followers would publicly recognise him thereafter. However, Samuel denounced Saul as King of Israel because God had rejected him for the blunders he committed - Saul autocratically made vows and patronised superstitions. REVELATION ( PART 1 )


" The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things REVEALED belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law."

Deuteronomy 29:29

REVELATION can be defined as that unique inspirational illumination of the mind in virtue of which the recipient conceives such thoughts as God desires him to commit to writing, but may not necessarily involve supernatural communication. It is a special understanding brought forth through contemplations or focus.

Revelation is Light; Light that unveils the nature, ways, plans and purpose of God to us through the scriptures, creatures, His son – The Lord Jesus, events ( historical and present ) and miracles.

In this section, we share on the two major types of revelation and their channels. Rightly Following are the these two types of revelation.

GENERAL REVELATION

These are revelations obtained from God through The Lord Jesus, creatures and people. For declaring that He and His father are one, we understand that we can God by imitating the ways of Jesus. When the stars fought against Sisera, we understand that even God’s creatures have instincts that comply with the WILL and POWER of God. And now, everyone, irrespective of their religious background, has a conscience that guides him or her. Afterall, we were made in the likeness of God Himself.

SPECIFIC REVELATION

These illuminations are obtained through history or experiences, and the scriptures. Moses’ attention was drawn to God by the unconsumed burning bush. God’s Word is also a sure source of LIGHT. From Genesis through the book of Revelation, God progressively shows us His divine nature or attributes. ( John 1:1, Revelation 19:13, Hebrews 1:3 )

According to our opening verse, we can only lay hands on that which is revealed. So let us be more desirous of God’s Lights in order to make greater exploits in Him.
