HER REGRET  : Miriam, with all her help in preserving the life of her brother, could not enter the promised land as she for her arrogance and insurbordination. HER STORY IN BRIEF : Miriam was the only daughter among Moses and Aeron. She would comport herself when her mum, Jechrobet, hid the baby Moses from Pharaoh and his executioning team for three months. When Moses was finally taken to the river Nile and hidden in a basket by her mum, Miriam would stay a little longer than her mum did, keeping her eyes on the basket to see if anyone would reach out for it. Fourty years later, God faithfully preserved Moses and brought the Israelites - including Miriam and Aeron, out of Egypt by him - Moses. After they successfully crossed the red sea, Miriam led in the celebration of that feat. But Miriam and Aeron later stood again...

THE GRACE OF GIVING

“…see that you also excel in this   GRACE OF GIVING .” 2 Corinthians 8:7. It’s an indisputable fact that our walk with God is strictly a walk of sacrifice or giving. We are either giving of our strength, possessions or money. But the seeds we sow, in the form of tithes, firstfruits, or thanksgiving often yield below the peak for some christians. Such are they that are advised by Apostle Paul to excel in The Grace of Giving. One may ask, “what extra Grace do we need for giving?” ; “aren’t we supposed to simply give and wait for results?” Emphatically, NO ! Giving is disciplined by principles. There’s the need for spiritual privilege – a reconditioning of The human Spirit so one can passionately, continuously and comprehensively offer of his or her own unto The Lord. And it’s only the Grace of Giving that positions us in this state. By this Grace, we first submit ourselves (our hearts ) to God; because our hearts are now governed by God, He alone – by His Spirit, determines ho...

THE LAW OF ATTRACTION

"...that which we have heard, that which we have seen with our eyes, that which we have gazed upon, and our hands have handled,..." John 1:1 If you consider your circle now, you will conclude that friends with whom you have similar personality outnumber those with deferring personality. You should also notice that, often times, you suddenly meet with or receive calls from, those you strongly  think of and long to see. These are manifestations of the Law of Attraction ! " The heart is DEEP beyond all things... " Jeremiah 17:9 Brenton Septuagint Translation. And Psalm 42:7 says DEEP calleth unto DEEP. Equating the two scriptures will help us deduce that, HEART calls unto HEART.  SOUL calls unto SOUL. That is the Spirit of the law - Like attracts LIKE ! Our opening verse starts with HEARING or SEEING and ends with HANDLING. Until a man hears or sees, he cannot handle. Yet, what we finally touch is always LIKE what we already hear and see according to the Law of Attra...

DORCAS

GOD'S ARMOUR ( Pt. 1)

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

Ephesians 6:13‭-‬17 KJV

Paul wasn't intimated by the Romans soldiers who guarded him in prison. He would rather proclaim that he sat in heavenly places while God gave him an analogy of the centurion's armour upon which his eyes were fixed. The Apostle, in his letter to the Ephesians, touched on this revelation as in our opening scripture. Today's part of the subject, however, discusses The Helmet of Salvation. ( Ephesians 2:6 )

Now, snapily describing the centurian's headgear ( helmet) helps us understand better how The Helmet of Salvation works. The design of the Roman soldier's helmet is such that it protects the back of the neck and the soldier's face - forehead, nose, eyes, ears and jaw of teeth. So The helmet of salvation - The Gospel of Jesus, wholly secures our thought and face.

PROTECTION FOR THE THOUGHT

The helmet guards our mind - WILL, EMOTIONS and INTELLECT, against satan's fiery darts like fear, mistrust and hatred. Since the mind is also a spiritual battleground, the helmet also guides our mind processes into Victory. The mind is the soul of a man. And a man's physical prosperity largely depends on the prosperity of his soul. Thus, the need to secure the wellness of our soul with the Helmet of Salvation ( 3 John 1:2 ).

PROTECTION FOR THE FACE

Just like the physical body, the human spirit also has spiritual senses. Our Spirits have eyes to see Visions, ear to hear God's Voice, nose to smell divine aroma, tongue to taste the goodness of God and skin to feel the touch or presence of Spirit entities. When the face is exposed, the devil may blind our spiritual eyes and deafen our spiritual ears. But thanks be unto God ! The Helmet of Salvation covers the Spirit's sense organs on the face as we wear it on.

But how do wear this helmet? The Helmet of Salvation, which is the gospel of Jesus, is worn when we replace our old, vain thoughts with those cited in Philipians 4:8. Romans 12:2 says, " ... But be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind..." That's how we put on The Helmet of Salvation.

It's worth noting that before the Roman soldier wore his headgear, he first polished it's sufface with oil. Thus, the helmet so shun on sunny days and blinded the eyes of rivals. This oiled metallic gear, would also slip off the palms of their enemies and sharply deflect their weapons ( swords).

Brethen, do not just dorn your helmet; first, let it also be anointed of The Spirit such that it is shiny and eye-blinding to the enemy. An oiled helmet is a Spirit-authored Word of God that's never corrupted ! Do join us here on our next post for the remaining parts of this armour. But before you leave now, kindly read a couple more of our exciting artircles on this page. God richly bless you !
